Banner ads showed up on facebook

I just installed 7 onto my friend's vista system, and now there's banner ads along the sides of facebook. He's using Google Chrome and it's all freshly installed and there's no viruses/malware on his laptop. I have the same version of Chrome and 7 on my system and I do not get these ads. Any ideas?
 
Switch to Firefox 4 and install the add-on "Ad Block Plus".

But if you want to stick with Chrome, there may be a version of ABP for Chrome.
 
There is one for chrome. Installed and it does block the ads. But there was one in the middle of the page and now there's a chunk of white there. Really odd it showed up on his, but mine has no ads. Oh well.

You can block ads with adblock in chrome by right clicking what you want blocked.
