Dual or Quad?

Alrighty....i wanna get a new mobo and processor, but idk what to get:confused: i wanna get a quad core, but do i really need it? alright this is what i wanna be doing with my new processor, mostly playing one game at a time, not multiple, im not a multitasker, but i do wanna play some high end games, like battlefield 3 and stuff. now, since i'm only playing one game at a time, do i need a quad or a dual? since im always low on cash, i only have a budget of $200. i found a nice combo that has a 2 memory slot mobo (don't really need 4, i got 2 4gb sticks) and a 3.2 Ghz quad core. do i need that to have good graphics and still have a steady 40+ frames (preferably 60+)? or would a 3.2 ghz 2 core do just fine for that?:confused::confused::confused:

ik it's about $10 more for the quad, but the dual can be OCed to 4 3.8 and can unlock 2 more cores, making it a quad. hellllllllllllpppppppppp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Get the quad. If you are going to replace the motherboard and cpu might as well get the better system.

If you can get an AM3+ motherboard and the 955/965.
 
If you want to compromise a little go with the Phenom II 720 Triple-Core Processor. They are $70 at NewEgg.com right now, but you will also have to buy a heatsink for it.

Another good option would be the following processor that comes with a heatsink:

Both processors would work with a Socket AM3+ motherboard.
 
or at microcenter you can get a i3-2100 for 99.99 and a biostar, elite group, msi, or gigabyte mobo for uner 70, and if you can get the money they got the i5-2500k for 179.99 and they got a couple bundles with it, if you want the performance and can get some money, i'd do it
 
well it depends on if or how much oc'ing he's going to do, if little or none then go consumer, if alot then by all means go with the oem so you don't waste 10+ bucks. it all depends on what exactly he'll be doing with and to the cpu
