For awhile it never had a blue screen popup. It did take a long time to restart, shutdown normaly though. Now when I try to restart, after 20-30mins the screen goes off.But laptop is still on.Ill double tap(not hold) the power button and it seems that it works like that.I don't get the"windows did not shutdown properly, and shows the safe mode, start windows normaly etc etc.
Starts up like it was restarted correctly.Thought it was kinda weird.
Here is the dump for the random crash that happens. No I have not installed new ram,hd,etc.

Do you have the vista install cd? Boot to it and select repair your computer. Usally this is caused by a driver issue, any new hardware recently? Try updating the drivers.

Said the volume was clean.Waited for the restart and got another blue screen.
First one in my OP was IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
***STOP: 0x0000000a (0x00000004,0x0000001b,0x00000000,0x81eefdef)
This one showed,DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
***STOP: 0X0000009F (0X00000003,0X835221C8,0X842B6F08,0X8A9A7E00)
When I ran the blue screen view again. It onley shows the IRQL error.

Definately sounds like a corrupted or bad driver. Go to your pc manufacturers website to download the latest drivers if its a store bought pc or motherboard manufacturer if its a custom built pc.

Ok.No.Its all stock.I use a logitech cam and a 500gb external(rarely use it,never leave it pluged in when not not in use). The external has no sys files, just media(music etc.).I am a bit confused with drivers.Should I uninstall all & then reinstall them?Or do they delete or overwrite the current ones?

You can try just overwriting them and see what happens. But may have to uninstall them first.

drivers to update...

chipset
lan
vga
audio
wireless

The audio, bluetooth and card reader are the same download but one is for vista and the other one is for windows 7, the other have 2 different brands so depends what one your system uses

tried the chipset first and it says:One or more files that are required for installation are either missing or corrupted.

Setup will exit.
I will uninstall my chipset driver, try it again then see what happens.

to get rid of the two driver listing use the operating system drop down on the right hand side of the screen, select vista ultimate 32 and then it only shows the drivers you need

Just got the chipset,VGA,audio,& wifi done.I think I chose the wrong one for wifi.Still shows 2 realteks after i select my OS on the gaetway link.Wifi seems to work fine, but shows no signal(no bars) in the wifi ballon on the bottom right.
Here is some copys off my event viewer.

Services, idk much.I disabled and set manual the obvious ones like winodws live ID sign in etc.Its windows OS services causing all this I think. Can someone tell me the ones I can disable and or just set to manual?I want the minimum to run vista. And want my wifi, audio, display, usb ports, touchpad & keyboard enabled.I don't care for the card reader, external vga port etc.
