Will my Laptop handle BF3?

My Desktop parts are soon coming in a months time. I want to know whether my Dell XPS 15 can handle it or not.
I know I should have posted this thread in the laptop section, but I know there are many battlefield 3 enthusiasts here.
My laptop specs:
CPU: i7-2630QM
GPU: GT 540M
want to run BF3 at 1366X768 Resolution.
I run Crysis 2 and Black ops easily in it at around 30-40 FPS, what you think about BF3? :)

Well its hard to tell really because Dice has not officially released a Minimum/recommended specs list...why i don’t know because its not all that far from release now.

I should imagine it will be able to run it on maybe Medium settings?
How much memory does that GT540 have dedicated?

It is probably going to require similar specs to Bad Company 2. Although it has more features and more to process than the Frostbyte engine does, it is optimised much better, so shouldn't be a whole lot different.

however, Nev is right, without first seeing the required system specs, it is impossible to give any certain answer

The GT 540M has 2GB memory. I have seen some previews of BF3, in it they tell that buildings can be destroyed and whats up with COD: MW3? if I can run black ops then can I run MW3?
Also is it right to say that Nvidia 500 series Desktop and Mobile GPUs can handle BF3 at 1080p?

In general with a lot of games it's best to wait to see what the recommended specs are for a game before we start to speculate on whether a computer can run it or not. There are so many factors that go in to it. Furthermore, from what I understand, the reason why they are calling in Battlefield 3 and not a continuation of one of the other Battlefield franchises that already exist is that the graphics, gameplay and tactics are a significant upgrade to what's already out. But, that could all change and be inaccurate by the time that game is released as well; so, the best thing to do at this point is to wait and see...

You are looking at, probably, very low specs. It is designed primarily for consoles, meaning you are restricted by a low clocked tri core CPU and outdated graphics that the 360 has. Provided it isn't a direct port, so very badly optimized, if you could play MW2, you will be able to play MW3. It is, after all, the same game

Well it is like BF2, that wasn't a continuation of 1942 or 2142. It is the next in the main series, which unlike CoD, don't follow on from each other, and don't come out every year. DICE put the time and effort in to make it different enough, and work well enough, to be a brand new game
