Internet usage

hi everyone,
is there any way to find out what has been using your internet and the amount of data it has used? (like if its games or music downloads, certain websites and so on)
I was just wondering if this could be done because my internet got capped today (for the 1st time ever :P) and i was just curious as to what used the most of my data.

Unfortunately there isn't a program that can tell you what your usage went towards, do you have a wireless router?

Yes my 2 years experience working on a internet helpdesk always tells me to first ask the customer if they have got a wireless router (if they have any unexplained usage.) There are many wireless routers that broadcast wireless without security. (WAP/WPA encryption) - So could you please tell us the brand and model of your router/

Also your internet provider will tell you the same thing (that there is no possible way to get a breakdown on your internet usage).
