Im trying to choose between two different types of external hard drives. It has to be 2TB or more. Obviously value for money is important. I want it to be able to connect it to my HD T.V either directly or through PS3 network. The ones I am looking at are:

Buffalo LinkStation Live 2.0TB DLNA CERTIFIED MultiMedia Network Storage with BitTorrent
http://www.buffalotech.com/products/network-storage/home-and-small-office/linkstation-pro-ls-vl/
This drive seems to connect with my internet so I can stream stuff throughout the house, this would be awesome but I'm unsure if it connects to my T.V which is a deal breaker for me

or

LACIE LACINEMA PLAYHD MEDIA PLAYER HARD DRIVE - 2 TB
http://www.memoryc.ie/products/desc...media_High_Definition_1080p_Player/index.html
Straight forward connect to T.V with HDMI cable for high quality picture and sound. Which would is better, any info, advice and suggestions greatly appreciated

Links broken, however the Lacie seems really good, but no RJ45 networking capability so you are stuck with the slow USB2.0, however it looks better on other specs.

The Buffalo has networking but is limited in other ways. You really aren't comparing apples with apples.

I fixed the links, I want to use this to save movies, TV shows etc so I can watch them on my T.V without the need to use my laptop. I currently need to connect my external hard drive to my laptop and then my laptop to my TV. If I could wirelessly connect my hard drive to my laptop that would be great. Not to up to date on these so please help!!!

You need a desktop computer with a tv card and a couple TB of storage. Please post your budget and we can work it out.
