Hey guys pretty pissed now because i was moving nd shipped my computer with Fed ex and it has FRAGILE all over the box i have no clue how they managed to rip the stock CPU cooler from the heatsinks and the fan. ( i have the i7 920) The case also got like ripped sort of and my p6t mobo also got dents all over its heatsinks from the cpu cooler being tossed around. Luckily i took my gtx 570 out before i shipped it xD. on the bright side i got 600 bucks for the damages (:. But anyways sob story over haha. So im looking to upgrade my proccesor, mobo and case. soo i want the best of the best (haha im like that) the i7 2600k. and im wwant a pretty good mobo for the proccesor. and im also looking for a new full tower case. ( i had the cooler master scout sniper and i hated it, the drive bays kept collapsing it was just a mess). im looking for a mobo for the 2600k and a nice full tower case

Old system:
Intel i7 920 2.6
asus p6t
Cooler master scout sniper.

New system:
Intel i7 2600k
Mobo??
Case??? ( I heard the Antec DF-85 is nice nd it looks really cool with greate airflow) (Budget for case is 200 or less)

Thanks (:

2500K is a better choice. The i7 is only a mhz jump from the i5. The same performance for all intents ant purposes, and it costs less.

RAM? Is yours fine or did fedex break it too?

$589.97 with the above parts.

Did you have the Storm Scout? Or the Storm Sniper?

thanks for the reply. and sorry i ment storm sniper. And yea i need different ram because the one i had was OCZ gold triple channel. and I just realized that the socket for the motherboard type for the 2600k is 1155 which means its only dual channel mobos. I used to have triple channel shld i go with a cpu (like the 950) and mobo that supports tripple channel? and its okay if the price total is a little above 600$

Because you already own the 920 and the ram. You would have to sell your 920 for a lost and ram as well. Up to you but I am pretty sure you wont notice any concernable difference in your games or in applications.

Save your money and buy into Socket 2011 when it comes out.

hmmmmm. You make a good point...hmm. Well could u make a quick build for me like motherboard and case wise your suggestions, and also ram i guess now... 2x 4 gb sticks? lol your other suggestion went down the drain the vengences 3x4. And ill make my decision affter dat. thanks (:

Asus P8Z68V- Pro

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB)

And go with the case linkin chose. It's pretty damn sexy, I bought one myself but have yet to finalize my media PC I am building in it.

Thanks a lot thermal youve helped me out a lot. ha yea but it doessnt have much fans. buuuuut my old case ima salvage all the fans and stick them all over the caSE LOL.

If any1 has any other suggestions please post!!
THanks (:

Reactor do you like your 600T? Anything you don't like? I plan on buying the white one to replace my scout which has done well for almost 3 years.

I haven't really used it yet. But so far the layout on the inside is great. Cable management is great. I can't really find too many faults with it really. I put power to all the fans it comes with as well and the case is fairly silent. The fan control on the top is a nice touch too. To be honest what sold me on it was the build quality and looks. It is one of the nicest looking cases that has come out in awhile. I definitely think it's a great choice if you don't want a full size case like the 700d/800d. Plus white is the new black it seems lol

you never need an aftermarket cooler for anything unless you are overclocking like crap, stock can handle a little too so yeah.

the only difference between the one I posted, and linkin posted is the 1394a port. Its not really widely used anymore, so why have a port you dont need.

that last gigabyte looked good too.
