Wanna buy a new card

Looking to get my first actual card other than a radeon 9600se in an old comp, but got about 80 MAX, that's pushing it and if that doesn't clue you in, i'm broke so not gunna be able to get a penny more unless it's like a super deal it might happen but unlikely, i'm gunna be watching all the deals on newegg for anything good enough, but otherwise the best i've seen for that much is like a 6670 1gb gddr5 from sapphire. and i heard it's supposed to work with 2.0 and 2.1, but my mobo only got a regular x16, and also it is an oem emachine comp, but it has a rosewill rv-2 500watt psu after the original failed and there support was rediculous, and i know it's not a good psu, but it's done fine so far and should work fine for anything at this price, any more and i would replace it but that ain't happenin for a while.

luckily the 260 is actually less, and from what i just read on some other forums, it's also faster in most games. do you know if there are any good dx11 cards on ebay around this much, don't need it but it would be nice to have. also gddr5 would be nice and remember my psu is a rosewill rv-2 500watt so i don't want something too power hungry that'll cause problems

You are asking for a bit much for your price range. You'll only find dx11 and ddr5 RAM in newer cards. You might be lucky to find a 6750 at that range, but I wouldn't count on it. The only ones I could find were at least 100. Your best bet if you don't want to go for Aastii's suggestions is to just stick with the hd6670.

EDIT: Actually I can't find the card you are talking about from sapphire. There is this though: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150467

Which is $69.99 after mail in rebate.

DX11 is pointless for your price range. All games which utilise DX11 won't be able to have the setting enabled because your card won't have the power to do so. It is like taking the engine out of a small family car and putting it in a sports car. The sports car may be designed to go fast, but it doesn't have the power to do so

Ive never seen analogies used in such a useful way as I do on these forums. Even if 90% of them deal with motor vehicles.

If you are willing to go used you might find an GTX 285 in that price range.
Which is an awesome card and will crush the newer cards available in your budget as of now.

And if you are lucky you might also get an HD 5830

EDIT
Just saw your PSU,you should stick to an HD4850 or a GTS 250.

ok I will change it - it is like a fat guy wearing running shoes. The shoes are meant to be used for speed, but the guy is fat, so they won't

Mihir, though the Rosewill unit isn't great, it would be enough for a 260

Hey, is that supposed to be a fat joke bout me, jk, but i'll look for that stuff too, just wish it was possible to use my dad's hd 4850 512mb, but it's in an imac so it's not a compatible socket and all, saw a vid and that crap is wierd.

how would a 8800gts like this be?

http://cgi.ebay.com/BFG-Technologie...249?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3369ba64b1

and also guys, forgot to mention that my monitor only goes to 1280x1024 and is a 4:3 not 16:9 display, it's a nec lcd1715 to be more specific if you wanna know exactly, but i'd like to be able to play like bf3 eventually on here and for all i care it could be on like 800x600 which is what i do for crysis, just as long as i can play it and see what's happening, but eventually i will probably put my 22" dynex tv here and use a hdmi, also this only has vga for now so if i get one i want that otherwise i'd have to put my tv down here. but there are a ton of these 8800 series cards, would one of these work for what i want right now, and these normally are aroung like 30-40 too so they are fine for the money.

and just noticed none have win7 listed under requirements, so idk if they ever made drivers for it, so another problem.

later today newegg's got a gt220 on sale, norm is 65 -20mir, later today it'll be 65 -25instant -20mir, making it 40 upfront and 10 after mail in rebate, should i get this for now, will kill my geforce 7050 igpu, and i can deal with 10 bucks for a couple weeks or few months (or years at this rate) until i've got a comp worthy of a nice gpu, also gotta get my dad to o.k. putting it in there, but if he does i think i should, just wanted to make sure.

bump, need to know this cuz i want to be able to play shift and hotpursuit along with dead space and medal of honor, and i know you'll say this gpu can't but i play on minimum res and shaders off if possible with aa and the other a something dissabled in my comp's settings so the game doesn't matter.

Personally, I would say wait. It wouldn't even be use afterwards unless you keep it in there for folding (which it won't be very good at) or keep it for a HTPC build at a later point.

If you are desperate though, it will play those games

i mean for 10 after the mir can't get anything better, and after than could put on ebay for like 25-30 with shipping, and that's less than all the people who buy to sell list it for, they put it for anywhere from 55-80. and my 7050 scores a 56 on passmark, and the gt220 scores a 449, that's almost exactly 8 times faster, and actual shaders too, along with the dedicated 512mb's of ddr2 128-bit vram which has to be faster than my ddr2, along with freeing the used space up for games and that could have been an issue with some of my problems where it's so slow trying to move all the info wasn't gunna work, and idk how to overclock ram and really don't wanna much.
