Making image of bootable USB

I have recently bought an acer happy2 netbook. I want to make back up for the OS which is windows 7 basic. I have one 16 GB pendrive on which I can make the bootable back up.
I am planning to create an image of all the files(made on bootable pendrive) in another hard disk and format the 16 GB pendrive for regular uses. In case i need to install the OS I can load all those files to my pen drive and use it as a bootable drive.
Will that work?

This may do it --

Make a System Recovery/Boot USB stick on a small one (1GB or less)

Carefully run PC-Decrapifier

then run CCleaner, also carefully and minimally

Defragment

Shrink C:\ drive to maximum extent using Windows

Use Macrium reflect to image system and C:\ drives only

I'm not a Windows guy anymore, but I think this will work, for starters.

Best wishes!

Minimum requirement is 8GB so I have to use 16GB :(
I found there is a command in linux dd using which we can copy the boot sector files also.
Trying for it.
Thanks for you reply.
