To go AMD,or Nvidia.

Hey Everyone, and I've run into another problem,

for the past month or so I've been tweaking my build to further reduce the cost and get better performance and all the other usual things you would do before making a final decision and I was hoping you could help me out with this one.

on one side AMD probably offers better performance for less and on the other side Nvidia offers about the same performance but It has PhysX and Nvidia "uptimized" games and whatnot and I was hoping you could help me out on this one.

should I go with the 6870,or the gtx 460?

thanks for the help.

nvidia has the physx, but most games actually use the cpu to do physx and not the gpu so more people can use it so they aren't taking the time to make something about half the people playing will see.

If you have the money, go nVidia. Their drivers are far less buggy than AMD.

AMD has poor support for GNU/Linux OSes, while NVIDIA has decent drivers for Linux.
But still adding the fan speed control is still a pain, if doing it for the first time. :(

that's fine with me, I'll be able to know how to do it in the future

if you got the extra cash please look at the gtx 560Ti, its performance is amazing.the 560 is neck and neck with the 6950.
