I recently got an OCZ Vertex 2 90GB.
The package was smaller than what I expected.
The package had
1.OCZ 90GB Vertex 2 in Anti-Static Wrap
2."My SSD is faster than your HDD" Sticker
3.A 3.5' Adapter with OCZ written on it as visible in the picture above
4.4 Screws to mount it on the 3.5' Adapter
5.4.Screws to mount the 3.5" adapter to the case.
6.A User-Manual
The drive itself looked pretty great and had a rough matte finish. The sticker was pretty cool too.
The 2.5' -> 3.5' Adapter was smaller than what I expected. It was smaller in length compared to an HDD.
The user-manual was less-descriptive.I expected something better.
So I mounted the SSD on the Adapter and then the adapter my HDD tray.
I only used two screws for mounting my 3.5' Adapter to the HDD Tray. Since that was the best method I was able to figure out.
I had backed up all the important stuff I had on the my C: partition of my 750Gb HDD on my D: partition.
I started the Windows 7 setup and formatted my the partition(C: Drive on 750GB HDD) on which my OS was installed. Then I formatted the SSD and began the Windows 7 installation on the SSD.
One step before the Finalizing Installation it rebooted and booted back to the finalizing installation step.(Note:This is not an abnormality, this is supposed to happen)
Then after it finalized the installation, I changed the boot device to my SSD and after the Asus Splash Screen it led me to ""Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key".
So I the above procedure again and still I got the same error. So I googled the issue and many people were having the same. But did not find a proper solution.
So I loaded the default settings on BIOS and disabled my 750GB HDD from the boot device priority list and then restarted the computer. And ran the Windows 7 installation again. And VOILA it worked.
Then I just restarted just for fun. So I figured it takes a lot of time(Like 8 seconds) on the Asus Splash screen and after that directly display "Starting Windows" and waits till the windows logo is fully formed then proceeds to the Windows login screen.
The total space which we get is 83.8Gb and 100mb is reserved for some system purposes.
I also did a simple test.
I copied a single 8Gb File from on folder on the SSD to another, and I got speeds upto 210mb/s.

PS: The title of the thread included "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device" since evidently this is a problem faced by many so this title would promote the SEO of this forum.
