Looking for: Quiet, efficient cooling and blows air OUT the case

So I've narrowed it down to 2 cards. I was looking for a quiet and efficient cooling solution and my research lead me to these 2 cards.

GIGABYTE SOC 560

I thought I was done but then I realized that these cards will tend to blow into the case. The only type of cards that tend to be closed up are the stock ones, but that probably leaves me with a noisy and less cool card.

Is there a card out there that does all 3 or am I stock choosing to either exhaust hot air, have a louder and hotter card or have a cooler, quieter card but a hotter CPU?

If you guys have any cards I'm not thinking of, please post em!

Thanks.

i think the whole blowing in and out of the case is snakeoil to me...ive never had issues with a card that blows into the case.... as long as you have airflow to get the warmth out, you should be fine.

never heard of a card blowing into the case as that limits the available air to come threw alot since it would be threw a few small slots on the side, but when it pushed it out it has much more airflow and spreads it to the back better.

and preoverclocked is a waist, you can overclock higher with the software that comes with the card, you might be able to squeeze a couple more hz out of it with the better cooling, but the card has limits and prob won't make that much of a diff with the better cooling, especially for the price.

Asides the fact that it comes pre-overclocked, the SOC version has Copper pipes, which are better than Aluminium.

Thanks for the input though!

What are you talking about. All cards fans are intake fans, they blow/suck air into the card.

This type blows the hot air out the back of the case through the cards vents, the cooler case is enclosed.

This type blows the air back into the case. The cooler case is open on both ends and top and bottom. Even though the card has vents in the back, not much air goes that way. Most is blown back into the case from around the cooler case.

i thought they normally exhausted threw the slots on the outside of the card and pulled from the inside, that's what i was saying, but that doesn't matter much as long as the fans work well so whatever.

What resolution would you be using the card with?

1920x1080, so 1GB should be fine. From what I see the stock 560 Ti cooling setup can get noisy under load. If there isn't any enclosed aftermarket heatsink setups available I guess I'll just stick with the SOC and try to increase the airflow in my case or just change my CPU heatsink to a Corsair H80.

I have a bad 920 D0 chip, I lapped the CPU and the heatsink and at 3.3 GHz I get 50C idle and up to 75C on full load. It was even worse before I lapped it. From what I saw, at 3.8 GHz the chip is supposed to be around 35-40c idle and 60-65c on load.

I'm just worried that if I have a card that blows air back into the case it's going to bring my CPU up to 80ish and that's not cool.

for gaming at that res you might want to look into finding closer to 1.5 or 2gb's, high res eats memory like i eat pizza or burgers :P

I'm not gaming at 2650x1600. 1GB for 1920x1080 is enough from what I researched and I won't see much gains, maybe 1-2 FPS.

a 560 Ti or 6950 would probably do the trick....i still wouldnt be too concerned about cooling solution unless your in a very tiny case

The case is pretty well vented and has proper cable management allowing for max air flow. It's a CM690 with 1 intake in the front, 2 on the top and my Noctua heatsink moves a decent amount of air too.
