RAGE minimum CPU

I really can't figure out what the minimum CPU for RAGE is going to be! Some sites say i3 which is dual core...other sites say Phenom x4...does anyone know what we're really looking at? Would an Athlon dual core work? Maybe a Phenom dual core? Athlon triple?
 
From what I got from reading on SystemRequirements.in:

Minimum System Requirements
* OS: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
* CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz or similar Athlon
* RAM: 2 GB
* HDD: 15 GB free disk space
* Graphics: 265 MB Graphics Memory
* Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible
* DirectX: Version 9
Recommended System Requirements
* OS: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
* CPU: Core i3-550 3.2GHz or similar
* RAM: 4 GB
* HDD: 15 GB free disk space
* Graphics: 512 MB Graphics Memory
* Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible
* DirectX: Version 9
Supported Graphics Cards:
Minimum – nVidia 8 series or above
Recommended – GeForce GTS 250 or Radeon HD 3870

The i3 and X4 is just what they recommend. You don't have to have that to run the game.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or Equivalent AMD
Memory: 2GB
Hard Disk Space: 25GB
Video Card: GeForce 8800, Radeon HD 4200

This is off steam so as minimum specs so you dont need an i3 to play it.

Im not sure what amd cpu is equivalent to a core 2 duo, i suspect its an athlon 2 or maybe a phenom, but some one will need to just double chech that
 
True, it really does. They're saying the pc version will by far be the best visually. I'm just hoping this new engine ID is using will be what makes it great and not a super great top of the line gaming rig. I've been looking forward to RAGE for a long time as I grew up obsessed with Doom, Wolfenstein, and Quake. ID makes the best games!
