GPU, CPU, Motherboard - $500

I have a budget of $500 to finish off my PC.

The motherboard needs to be DDR3 1333, must have 6.0gb sata and USB 3.0. The rest is up in the air. I have had some ideas of what I wanted, but I want a second opinion from people.

Thank you

@Stranglehold, i could be wrong but i think hes after a mobo, cpu and gpu with the $500 budget not just mobo.

Your right.

In that case.

AMD board. with a 1090T or a 955

or
Intel board. with a 2500K.

Do you want a AMD or Nvidia card?

Or you can drop to a cheaper board and get a better video card.
If your not going to run crossfire or SLI.

Intel

You are correct sir.

AMD
Motherboard
Graphics Card
CPU

Intel
Motherboard
CPU
GPU

Again, I'm not opposed to either Nvidia or ATI. I just put in eVGA due to brand loyalty (They have replaced my 8800GT and their customer service is A+)
That's what I'm thinking as far as the two builds are concerned. I'm pretty sure I'd rather go with the the Intel build. I can spend $20 more without a problem. Just coming for a second opinion really.

I have never used a card that wasn't of the nVidia chipset. I realize that a lot of games are now supporting them, but should I be too worried about something like that? If not it seems that the performance is much better for the price.

all games have always supported them, just because it says nvidia at the beginning doesn't mean it has to be one or anything if that's what you mean, and you can't really compare them performance wise by looking at the clock speeds, they use different techs so the numbers are basically irrelevent comparing performance, benches are the easiest way to tell a difference.

I looked at some other graphics cards and I was able to find that a 6850 has a better benchmark than the 6870 when it comes to overclocking and only minor percentages (maybe 5%) when it comes to stock. I think I may go with the 6850 for the price and go after an aftermarket cooler.

I was thinking about getting a 2500K, however I'm not opposed to getting an equal AMD processor.

AMD has nothing out at the moment that comes close to the 2500k, let alone the 2600k.Bulldozer will be released on the 26th on this month, so I suggest wait till than so you'll be able to see some benchmarks and see if AMD can compete with intel's new line of CPU's.But I heard that there performance lvl will be on par with the Intel's Bloomfield rather than Sandy Bridge, lets hope not.Im rooting for AMD to pull something out the hat this time.

Point is, for $25 more you can get the 6870, which is a superior card, and you get more bang for your buck with the 6870.

where do these dates come from, i've heard 19th, then someone said 20th, now you say 26th, wtf, can we just get a solid date already from amd since it's les than a month away no matter what.
