Sharing Files from Windows Vista (Basic) to Windows 7 - HELP PLEASE!

I have over 1000 songs on my old laptop (Vista) and I've now got a new laptop (Windows 7) and I want to transfer them to this. My old laptop doesn't recognise memory sticks (I don't know why, as it accepts my iPod cable, and printer cable) so I can't send songs this way.

I've been messing around and trying to share the files by looking for the Public file in the Network thing, and making sure shared files is on, on both laptops but I'm having no luck. I then used an ethernet cable and couldn't figure it out that way either.

Anybody have some sorta 'simple' instructions, I know a bit about computers so I'm used to a bit of technology vocab, but not too much.

Any help or suggestions would be greatful!

Sorry if this is in the wrong section too.

Or he can do it without buying anything :D

-Download Team Viewer on both laptops from here: http://www.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewer_Setup.exe

NOTE: They should both be the SAME version on both laptops so be sure to download the Team Viewer from the above link on BOTH laptops!

-Now simply just RUN the Team Viewer. You do not even need to install it.Just select the option to run it directly.

-Now all you have to do is to connect first laptop with Windows Vista to second laptop with Windows 7 using REMOTE CONTROL through the Team Viewer using the ID and PASSWORD you are given.

-Once you are connected, simply use the FILE TRANSFER option to transfer whatever you want from one laptop to another.

-The end :D

Cheers mate!

You mention networking. Does the two computer connected to each other? do you have a router or network switch? Do you have cross over cable? We need to know what you have before we can give you the right solutions.
If you don't have any of those, you can try this one
