New PC - Desktop or All In One

Am considering a new desktop, mainly for use as media pc. At Newegg this Gateway just went on sale: DX4850 45ur for $499 with i5, 1 terrabite hd, Blu-Ray and 802.11. No TV tuner but am considering Samsung t24a350 monitor which has built in tv tuner.

My wife doesn't like the idea of a large computer case. A comparable all in one from Sony or Asus would run about $1200OR more. I feel this set-up has best bang for the buck.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

tell her she can have a all-in-one, or she can have a new set of clothes minus the debt she would have gotten ;) i just had to go there.

dear daisymtc:

I would build one myself; but how can I build a pc w i5, blu ray, 1 tb hd, 6 gb ram for under $500?

It is hard. Ask your wife if she want to spend extra $100-200 for something with better looking. And she probably say yes...

I just checked the price, you could probably finish the build around $560 with better looking case. core i5 2300, H61 mobo, 2 x 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, ~$100 for case + PSU (e.g. SILVERSTONE ML03B + Corsair CX430, Antec Minuet350), windows 7 OEM

actually i looked it up and that was on the 48hr sale that ended last night, and i picked out a nice build if you'd like to see it that has everything and is itx (smallest form factor, really tiny) and all of good quality parts.
