Need help with new GPU

So I recently bought the Sapphire HD 6750 and it will not work. It will load fine and be okay for like a min and then it randomly just start flickering like crazy. Ive upgrading my PSU because before I thought it would not work because my PSU wasnt strong enough. So this didnt work. For my mobo i have asus p5ql-pro and there is nothing wrong with it because I can still run my old GPU on it. So does anyone know if I have to update something or whatever to get the graphics card to work on my computer?
 
Did you uninstall the drivers for the old card before you swapped out? Need to uninstall the old drivers then install the drivers for the new card.

So I uninstalled old gpu. Turned off comp. Put in new gpu. Started up comp and it still flickered. So restarted in safe mode and uninstalled drivers. Then installed drivers restarted comp and still does not work. Still getting flickering.

Card maybe defective?
 
did you use the windows install of drivers or did you go to either amd or nvidia's site and download the latest drivers, because the latter of the 2 is the best option and may help if you did the first
