80 degress is definately overheating. Is this an older laptop? Get a can of compressed air and blow it in the air vents and see if dust comes out. If an older laptop, you may have to take it apart and take off the old thermal paste and reapply new.

What kind of laptop? getting any airflow from vent? Does fan speed ramp up when entering game?

Its an Acer Aspire 5738pg-6555 touch. I know its not a high end laptop, but i shouldnt have this problem. I went into my power options and i set it so fan is always max when pluged in.

Hmmmm

Couple things i would look for is to ensure that airflow is at it's highest. Clean very thoroughly. Also check that resolution selection for the game is not over what your capable (i know with my old laptop i acidently had my game trying to use 1080p when the display could only do 720, blank screen would come up and temps would increase. This was, what i think, the computer trying to put out the right resolution, but display not able to give it. I would also run a diagnostic check on hardware. Could be wrong, but Acer does give you a program that does a quick test.

EDIT: how long will it run until it crashes?

Hmmmm

EDIT: how long will it run until it crashes?

Ill check that out next time i play. And runs anywhere between 10min- 2hrs before it crashes. I also have one of those laptop fans that u place ur laptop on and it blows air into it. I find it helps, But does not solve the problem

Turn the laptop upside down on a table and use a vacuum cleaner on all the vents on the bottom and sides, including USB ports etc where dust can build up. After I did this with mine, it was running games at cool temps having overheated before.
