iE help

I have win7 on my Laptop and need help with iE.

If I am on a website I minamize it to the Taskbar and it works.

But if I go to my iE Icone on the taskbar to open a new browser window it opens the last one.

I want to know ho to Minamize one Browser window and open another and then go back to the other one.

They seem to just be one in the same.
And I know it is a setting??
 
Right click the IE icon in taskbar, choose Internet Explorer from menu. A new IE windows opens. When IE is active, you can open a new windows fast by pressing CTRL + N.

Well I have also win xp and I can do this on it.

I click to open iE and get to a webpage then Minamize the iE.

Then just click again on the iE Icon to open up another iE window.

But when you are on win7. and click to open iE and then Minamize it it does not go to the Taskbar as a new Icone.

It re comines into the same iE Icone.

Is there a way to have this act like iE in win xp I ment?
 
I would try and get used to the Win7 workings instead of holding on to old XP ways. With Win8 on the horizon, XP is looking very old and unsupported.

Doesn't mean you can never configure something to work the way you want it to work. I mean, even with XP and Vista you could revert to the old style start menu. Doesn't mean you can't do the same in 7.

OK how can I make iE in win7. work the same way?

Ware I can open a new window and at the same time have the old window Minamized?
