Can't understand why...

Hello everyone, i have a question... there is a site that checks if your computer is able to run a game or not, checked it and it said that i can run Dead Island on high, but i still run it with great frame lag even in low... why is that?

My pc specs are:

Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 9550 Quad-Core Processor 2.2 GHz
4GB ram
windows 7 64 bit
Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 Gs.

Could you guys help me please? And i run minecraft at 30fps too, could you tell me why is that? :(

You cannot always rely on Can You Run It.
You GPU might be a bottleneck for Dead Island.
I do not know about minecraft.

Yeah the 9600GS is a very outdated and low performing card. You'll want to bump up to something newer like a 4870 or 5870.

I used to own a AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core Processor. It was a decent processor. My Phenom II 945 Processor only cost me $100.

My piece of junk Chevrolet Aveo engine just blew out on me at 80,000 miles and is going to cost me very likely around $1,100 to get it fixed. I had the timing belt changed at close to 58,000 by a good technician, and then the idler pulley broke about 23,000 miles later and messed up my engine. General Motors makes garbage cars. No wonder they had to go beg the government for bail out money.

Sorry for the rant. It makes a new Zambezi Socket AM3+ $190 processor look like it's cheap when you have to overhaul a car engine.

The 9600GS is pretty much a dog of a card. Try to get something like a 6850/GTX 460, plus you could move it to a new build later if you upgrade anything else later. If not in a year or two you will be right back where you started from.

What kind of power supply do you have?

you will need to open the case to find it.
in the bottom left hand corner of this picture is the PSU, that tag that says compaq will have the information we are looking for.
