have I a IDE or a Sata lappy

Hi All , I have bought this 2nd hand lappy with no hdd in it and I need to no if it is sata or ide
see picture below for details

what is the model number of your lappy? as the picture show that it is sata .but some time HP use some converter . i think it is sata .
 
It looks like an HP Nc6220/6230. It takes IDE drives, but it has an adapter that goes with it, so you'll need that in order for the drive to work.
 
if it is a HP Nc6220/6230 then no doubt it need IDE HDD, but adapter or converter need . make sure do u have that adapter with you laptop.

The NX8220 is just a higher model of the 6220 so don't feel confused. Those models all look and work the same, so I took a shot at the picture you provided.

Anyway, the adapter is part of the hard drive caddy, so this is what you'll need if you don't already have it:

Then you just need a laptop IDE hard drive.
 
ha have

well they supplied me with a caddy , but it hasnt got the plastic bit on the end of it were it slots into the hdd .
so It looks like I need a new caddy :o
