good day folks, can you help me or any idea about this one?
my friend had this laptop HP Pavillion dv4-1222nr it went blank screen but all the LED lights and the CPU is functioning except only in the MOnitor display he say it went blank and nothing more,i am competent that there is no problem in LCD screen,i think CPU or RAM or other parts or software.

guys do you encounter this issue about this model hp pavillion dv4-1222nr?
if you do can you give me the Idea how to repair it. thanks in advance
any help is kindly appreciated.

regards

Step one: Identify possible damage.
has it been, dropped, exposed to ESD (electrostatic Discharge), or Water? If so, contact HP for support.
If not move to step 2.
Step 2: Identify failed component.
Plug a monitor into the VGA port and see if it will show up. It could be a simple backlight failure. If this shows nothing, then reseat the RAM and try again. Still nothing, you have a failed GPU, contact HP for service.

thanks for the reply.

it has not been dropped,ESD nor water.
and step 2 also is try i plugged in into VGA port and it show, i think its a hardware problem, i research in the net and most say overheating on cpu and gpu in this model of Hp laptop crap HP computer. has anyone solve this issue? this laptop is out of warranty

if it is not showing video, but lights up, its the GPU. If the CPU was damaged, it would not light up at all (I know this from an Acer lappy).
It will be cheaper to buy a new laptop than to fix this one.
