Really Need Advice with my old PC (Windows XP pentium 4)

Hi all (my senior) my name is Deny. I works with my PC and internet about the past years. And I think I am really need advice or help with my old PC.
I used a PC pentium 4, with Windows XP. My problem is, there is something wrong with your PC, it runs too slow, heavy.
Very heavy to runs a web page that has a lot of scripts, as well as animations, 3D, video or flash, and even Facebook and twiter. Even frail when opened 2 window in Firefox.
It also runs too slow and "frail" with "heavy" programs like Photoshop, Adobe reader, and others.
I've check the disk memory, really a lot free space there.
I don't have any anti virus, because I don't know where I can get it for free.

There's any idea with this problems? I really hope for it especially if I can do that for free :D with my self. Hope for completely tutorials from my senior here.

Pentium 4's just don't cut it in today's world. Nearly everything is optimised for faster PC's. There isn't a problem as such, it's just that the mechanicals will be dated.

Do you know what the full specs of your computer are?
Download and install this,Its a Free application that will list the parts in your computer. ,Run it and tell us what it says or even better take a screenshot.

One of the reasons your pc could be very slow is the Hard drive might need Defragmenting.

But Pentium 4s are very outdated now,And if you dont have much memory in your system then that could also be a major reason that your pc is very slow when your running demanding programs.

Defrag your hard drive (Use a decent defragger like Ultimate defrag - which can put the programs you use everyday on the fastest part of the hard disk)
Disable an unneccesary items from starting up automatically when you boot windows.
Clean out your registry
Turn off unneccesary back ground processes
Use a lighter operating system (Either stripped down windows or puppy linux etc)
