Upgrading GPU.. why is this card so cheap?

I am upgrading from my card below in my signature.

Why is this card so cheap? Would this be ideal for BF3?

ps what is Fermi

It's cheap because of the 336 processing cores vs 384, and it has 1 gig of RAM.

Fermi is the architecture that the GPU core is based on.

Thanks, so I should look for a card with a bit more RAM... The only reason I am buying this is to Run Battlefield 3 and not to max it out... although that would be nice

The 560 is barely a step up from the 460 unless you get the 560 Ti.

You'll get more performance from this card at the same price and with a better MIR.

This is a good deal too at $204 after MIR and is better than the HD 6870.

1 Gig of RAM is plenty for a single monitor running up to 1920x1200 resolution. If you plan on running higher resolution that that, then you would want to consider upping the RAM.

You will be able to max out BF3 with the 560TI by the way..

cool, but i would like to add in that there are no 384 core 560's on newegg at least from bassadicts statement, maybe that's the 560ti's which are the newer upgraded version that also have a different cooler to accommodate the added heat from them, or at least that's what i think it was, i know there was something about the 570hd's from evga used a cooler modeled after that of the 560ti or something which is why i think that.

I ran the beta on ultra with the 550 ti and i also can run SC2 on ultra but i choose to run it on high
