I'm using Vista with an NVida Geforce 9500 GS. Monitor is a 21 inch LCD Acer, running 1080p over HDMI.
Both computer and monitor are just under 2 years old.
Anyway, I have had no trouble at all with my monitor until today when I decide to move the room my computer is in. I have done this several times before and its never an issue. I unplug everything from the desktop tower, move all the stuff, and plug everything back in once I am in the new room.
Windows boots no problem, I sit down... and what the heck. Everything is really fuzzy, and seemingly half the screen is flickering. I go into the settings of both the monitor and the display options on the computer. They say its still 1080p and still running at 60 hertz.
I unplugged everything and restarted the comp, and I took out the HDMI cable and inspected for dust. Nothing changed, screen still flickers and is crazy blurry.
I don't think is PC side. Is my monitor just FUBAR or is there something wrong with my HDMI? I was surprised there is very little info about this issue on Google. The only info I could find was silly like "see if you can somehow degauss your LCD" or "reinstall windows" : |
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: I plugged the monitor, via the same HDMI, into my laptop and everything there is fine. Crystal clear display and no problems. So the problem does appear to be PC side, or maybe just the port on my PC? This doesn't make any sense, why would moving a computer over 1 room suddenly cause my graphics card to make the LCD fuzzy?!
