Power supply blown up

hi, . .

can someone help 'bout me. . .my power supply is blown up. . .
so i buy a new one, but when i used it nothing happen. . .the computer
is no power and the new power supply is not running too. . .but when i try the new power supply to the another pc. . .it's working properly. . .

is it possible that the motherboard and my processor is damaged too???

when a power supply blows it can take other components with it, idk exactly but it can probably just basically open up the wall socket strait to the motherboard and cpu basically frying them, or that's what i think, but yes the parts could be dead.

I have a general idea of how a PSU would react to such a clause, but I don't have any valid information for you. I'm getting into the PSU section of my hardware book soon!

Also, I would recommend posting in the Power Supply section of this forum. You may get more useful answers.

What kind of power supply was this that went out? Name and Model. You sure you plugged all the connectors right when you installed the new one in yours?

you noticed i said that i wasn't sure and it might be something like this before that actual statement, and idk why i didn't but i looked it up real quick and found the term i had idiotically missed, a power surge basically. if the bpsu goes bad and a component in it goes or something then it can send a power surge through the other components frying them, try to find how this is such a stupid explanation since i'm fairly sure it is true and i did say i wasn't sure and guessing. but what i said was "basically open up the wall socket strait to the motherboard and cpu basically frying them" which is sort of a stupid way of saying power surge, as in the psu was no longer measuring the amount of voltage going to the components so it just sent almost all it had, which yes is different than opening the socket up but i was also saying it for this guy who obviously doesn't know a whole ton about this stuff so yeah.
