Ubuntu VM vs Wubi

I've decided to re-install Ubuntu (11.10) for development purposes. I started by installing it via Virtualbox, And I was enjoying it, though it wasn't running as fast as I'd like, so I used the wubi installer to create a second boot option. It is running exactly like I want now, and I'm enjoying it a lot more. Except, I noticed a couple features that I had in the VM install, that I don't have now:

I can't drag a window to the side and have it re-size to fit half the screen..
And the sound didn't work..

After a bit of research, I've fixed the sound issue for the most part (it doesn't play the little tune when ubuntu loads, which makes me sad). As for the other feature, it was there in the VM install, but not now. what could be up with that?

Actually, I just realized, it's probably because I'm using the 64bit version now, and I was using 32 bit before
