Why These little notebook so expensive?

anything that fast in a small portable notebook will be expensive! you want small and powerful you got to pay to play...

1. It's an Asus, which usually means high quality.
2. It has a 128 gb SSD drive in it.

I thougt Intel make it easy to define their by saying i3 has dual core with hyperthread, i5 has 4 cores without hyperthread, and the i7 has 4 cores with hyperthread. Recently there are a lot i5 and i7 break this trendand make it hard to choose.
Other than what point out above, Is there any thing different in i3, i5 and i7 processors?
Cheers.

those are just the mobile cpus, idk why they did that though, but normally i think on lappies the i3 is 2 cores, i5 is 2/4, and i7 is 4, 4/8, or something like that. but that ssd in there alone is prob worth 300, a normal 128 is 200, and they use special ones that are extra small, like a usb stick 2x wider and longer and thinner too. but the batter for those would be way higher quality and cost more, along with a special tinny mobo, and the screen would have to be super energy efficient, basically it comes down to this: small + powerfull = way overpriced compared to similar spec'd normal

They are small plus as far as I know there are a lot of companies coming out with ultra books but there are only three right now. Asus, Samsung and Apple. So not really much competition to make them compete in price, give it time and Toshiba and Acer will come out with cheaper models and even though Asus is a quality company it is like when netbook came out they all used the same hardware cause it was limited back then so it did not matter which one you bought cause they were all the same.

The i7 in this laptop is 2cores and 4 threads.

if you read it again you'll notice i said it's normally 4 cores or 4/8, but i don't know why that one is that way.

all mobile i7s are 2 cores. nothing new. Like the 6990 and 580 mobile gpus, nothing close to the desktop variety. Generally take 2 models down and thats the performance. So a 580 nvidia mobile gpu, will run like a gtx560 desktop variety.
