Is this better for my Build?

it will work, but the graphics card you have ATM is probably the best :0 it has double the VRAM than the others you suggested to buy, although the second link you suggested is probably best

the 6970 is best.
As for the post above, Vram only really counts in a couple of cases. High AA/AF, High Resolutions, and multiple monitors. If you are running say 1 monitor @ 1808p, 1Gb is plenty.

At 1080 at Ultra settings, BF3 uses all of my 1.25 GB, and other members have reports of up to 1500-1700GB of Vram used. But that's for the most intense game out there.

wolfe, you know that's a 6870 2gb vs. the 1gb 6950's right, or was it just a typo, but would the extra power make up at all for the less vram.

that was a typo johnny. sorry.

As said, high resolutions are where vram comes into its own. BF3 is pretty intense, and it can over max the 1GB cards, but one game is hardly reason not to upgrade to a stronger card.

Yes,BUT other games could come out requiring 2 GB.
I just need one monitor 1080P 12xxP 19xxP Ultra,To specify

no game will require 2gb for a while if ever, but in a year there should be a more noticeable difference going from 1gb to 2gb's while on 1080p if using some of the more memory demanding settings. can someone say which was the more demanding one, i know either anistropic filtering or anti-aliasing was fairly memory demanding.

Thanks. a year sounds good,I plan on getting another video card Next year.
Could you tell me if I could Put a HD Radeon 6950 1gb and HD Radeon 6870 2GB In my rig for one monitor and notice A Good Difference?

nope, they have to be the same series, i'm pretty sure the same model too, as in only 2 6870's would work together, maybe a 6850 and a 6870 but i don't think so. But also like if you put a 2gb overclocked 6870 with a cheap stock 6870, then both cards would be forced to use the lower amount of vram, 1gb, and the same clocks, meaning greater performance but the extra money spent on the first would go to waste.

and also a 1gb card will last a while, the 6950 should still be pulling good settings in 3 years, add a second and 4-5 years (crossfiring doesn't double performance, and also i'm fairly sure the second pcie x16 slot running at x4 on that mobo would be holding the second card back some)
