Building a budget computer need help with mobo and cpu

I decided to attempt my first build. I bought pretty much everything on black Friday and cyber Monday. I just need a mobo and a cpu and I am done. I am looking for a little help here though. I am looking to only spend about $140 max on the pair. I will use the computer for surfing, watch a movie from time to time, and will play a few games. The games I would be playing are Modern Warfare 3, COD4, Oblivion, GTA4. I have a list of the components I have thus far below.

don't expect really high fps with that gpu, but for the cpu/mobo, i'd check if there is a local microcenter cuz they have some good deals right now, i know inb the latest flier there were some really nice combos with a phenom ii x2 560 and some decent mobos with 40 off, or if you can up the budget you could get a x4 970 with a good mobo for under 200, but for the 150 this is prob the best you can get, good cpu and a pretty good mobo, better than what you could get a newegg.

Yeah I know my gpu is pretty weak. I plan on updating in the next few months. I only paid $10 for it. What about the Athlon II X3 450? I can pick that up for $67.99 right now.
 
Pretty good price. Plus you get a Phenom II X2 555. Its unlocked. The motherboard is a Biostar. Not a big fan of Biostar and it only has 2 memory slots. But the board will probably be fine. The Phenom II X2 555 is really a quad core and the biostar has core unlocker on it. So you migh have a chance of making it a X3 Tri or X4 Quad. Plus they are in your 140 price range.

prob shoulda just linked to this page, this cpu will also unlock more cores if you're lucky, but is faster at stock if you don't want to mess with overclocking, and actually is cheaper with a better mobo if they are in stock at the closest store to you. and i mean the non-freebie mobos, those are all old chipsets and although they will work you still want a 8 or 900 series, the 7 would be fine i guess, not sure about the older ones.

That Biostar mobo looks like a great fit, with a price that fits within your budget. I wouldn't worry about only having two memory slots, as 8GB of memory would be more than enough. I also wouldn't worry about the fact that it is an AM3 board, especially due to the budget/nature of your system. (let alone the fact that Bulldozer is crap right now)

I would try to get at least a tri-core, preferably a quad, which both should be within your budget range. Getting a dual-core for cheap and being able to unlock 2 more cores on it may be awesome, but if nothing unlocks you're stuck with only 2 cores, which would be less than desirable. It isn't 2009 anymore.

Anything Athlon 2 640, 645, Phenom 2 840, etc.....would work great. I saw a mention of the 960T, which would obviously be great too, albeit at a higher price.
