Hello kind people

i am 16 years old student and i am graduating from school this year, so i am going to study computer science. Which laptop would be best choice for me. I dont need 1 gb video memory, i am not going to play battlefield 3.
I prefer: Lenovo, toshiba
I thought about OS a lot and i decided to get a Windows PC and dual boot linux, because, i think, windows is better for programmers...

Thanks for spending your time on me :)
Yeah i forgot to say: i have about 1000$

If you don't know what your talking about, don't advise on it.

Windows is by no means "user friendly". It only seems like it is because it has been forced down our throats by the major computer companies since the 80's, thus burning its complexities into our brains.

I would suggest Lenovo also because of the quality of the build. That or HP probook/elitebook or Dell Latitude/precision. They all have about the same quality and length of life.
For programming, I would get used to Linux, but keep windows as a testbed.

You'll be programming in Java. Any laptop will be fine. Linux or Windows. Don't go wasting a $1000 unless you play on gaming. Pick up a $400 one.

well when did i advise anything?? i just said that i think windows is better for me. i have never advised anything to anyone
Thanks for help anyway :)

I would quote, but i don't see your original post.

Anyway, IIRC you said something to the ends of windows is better to program in. Which is a flat out lie.

well yeah sorry i wanted to say it is better than mac, but i also said that i am going to dual boot linux. Anyway thanks for help i will get dell or hp.

no no no no no please not a HP. Toshiba, Asus, Lenovo or Dell are all pretty good brands.

HP are made with lesser quality components and have a much shorter life in general.
