My windows 7 OS is currently on a WD 2tb drive I'd like to move only the OS portion on a new 1tb HDD how do I do this?

Thanks in advance.

I use Western Digital drives, and use their Data Lifeguard Tool.

You install the Second Drive, then run Data Lifeguard Wizard which clones the old Drive to the new one, then turn off and unplug the computer to remove the old Drive.

You can also use 3rd Party Drive Imaging tools like Acronis, to do the same thing.

Those would all work for cloning the drive. But he asked if he can move just the OS over to the new hard drive. Only way to do that would to reinstall windows to the new drive.

I would re size the 2tb partition down so that it will fit inside the 1tb drive then follow the steps that are in this guide that spynoodle wrote

Working on this right now I'll check the guide once my date is lower then 1tb

How would my computer boot if it was windows installed on 2 different drives?
