Should I change my OS to Linux?

Feel free to tell me this is a hijack and I should go start a new thread, but speaking of Wine, is there a way to use it to get netflix streaming working?

Nope. With some serious tweaks, you can get pretty close, but there's still one kink no one can work out to get it to work.

..I didn't know people still used netflix. I unsubscribed a while ago. :P

no. With all mods short of changing the registry to say Windows 7 and using Wine to run Silverlight, it will not run. Netflix requires OSX on a intel mac or Windows XP SP2, Vista, or 7 to run. It will work on 8DP, but it has a few bugs, mainly with the audio lining up. The Video out buffers the audio on 8.

That is really the only reason I have XP on my computer besides Steam, is to watch netflix. And Xbox will do that too, so... really just steam holding XP to me hard drive.

Linux is suppose to get netflix in about 8 months, it is in development. I am not sure which Linux distro's will be getting it.

Linux is good for about everything but gaming. Like Linux is really good at photo editing, I use digiKam to get that professional look and if I need to do anything crazy then I use gimp. We are suppose to be getting light works in the next weeks which is suppose to be a pretty premium Video editor. We have great sound production software and of course the programming and server field Linux goes unmatched.

Haha "We" like Linux people are a group that specifically receive these new softwares and not the distro.

Not saying your lying, but netflix has always been "about to be released" for linux. I'll believe it when I see it.
+1 to everything else you said though.

Ha, okay, thanks all. I had a feeling netflix would be a no-go. No biggie really. I mainly watch it with my PS3 and Xbox360, but I was just curious.

Well it is what I read, plus it is possible being that netflix is on every device these days and there are a current est of 65 million Linux users that could be potential customers. I really do not care cause in my house I have a Sony bluray player that has netflix and hulu, I also have a roku player in the room which I watch netflix, hulu and cnet tv on. Here is where I read it.
