Complication in building (motherboard)

Well i was at the part were you have to put the motherboard into the case at those golden stand off things or bronze or what ever so i put some extra in because it was missing some. then i put in the mother board so i screwed in some bolts then i ran out i found some more in the bag in the case but it wasen't till i realized that they were a bit different (they had some swirly pattern on the base under the screw head. by then i already was done then i found out i had to put that silver panel before i put the mb so i unscrewed it then one of the screws is tightly screwed into the golden stand off and ti unscrewed the stand off to and the screw wont come off if i pull the screw it pulls the stand off and it cant go through the circle so all i can do is A screw it back in and continue without the panel thing or B I don't really know what to do help?

EDIT: I got them all off with pliers! but in the end i dont have enough screws to go in the standoff ( the right screws atleast) so what do i do is it suppose to be like that? can i put most of the screws and leave some of the standoffs screwless?

You only put standoffs under the motherboard holes that have the grounded strip around them. What make and model do you have?

Well i managed to solve that problem and now i have another complication i set up every thing all my fans work and stuff but when i plug the monitor into the vid card nothing appears on my screen though the vid cards fans are running so many wires..i hope its not damaged or any thing.
Another problem is the power button only turns on and not off.

You should only have 9 standoffs under the board. Your not plugging up the monitor while the computer is running? Plus do you have the 6 pin PCIe power connector plugged into the video card?

Yea its plugged into the vid card but the monitor still isnt working though when i did it externally like in the newegg vid it worked..

Are you sure you dont have a extra standoff under the board causing it to short out, it just has 9 standoffs and screws. Do you have the 8 pin CPU power connector plugged in?

Make sure you dont have the reset and power switch backwards on the boards pins. Maybe try resetting the bios.

Resetted the bios nothing i even unplugged most of the stuff till it looked just like how i tested it before i put it in the case and it still dosent work the only things i cant think thatd mess me every thing up was getting the standoffs off the screws ( had to use pliers to hold the standoff and screw the screw off) i did remember the anti static plastic thing the mb came in was ontop of the vid card but i quickly took it off when i noticed i have no idea whats wrong maybe tomorrow ill try putting up pictures as im going to take a break and try again tmrrow.

You do have the CPU fan plugged in?

I would suggest taking the board back out and start over. Remember you only need 9 standoffs and they only go under the grounded holes on the board.

Okay im back.

Well i took out the mother board and did the external build again with the cpu fan plugged, the motherboard power, and the vid card in and nothing shows
up still.

EDIT: I found my problem guess i needed a good nights sleep lol, Well i rewatched a video and turn out i forgot to put that I think 8 pin or 6 cant remember the holes into the motherboard the guy called it supplemental cpu power I dunno. but it works.
