desktop for SWTOR?

Sorry I made a post like this already, but I lost it somehow :(. Anyway I was going to build a desktop, but I'm kind of too impatient at this point to spend awhile researching(since I know nothing). So I think I might take the easy way out and just buy a desktop that can run SWTOR perfectly for the cheapest price. Any suggestions would be awesome...

I copied and pasted the "minimum requirements" for the game:

Processor:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better
Operating System:
Windows XP or later
RAM:

Windows XP: 1.5GB RAM
Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB RAM
Note: PCs using a built-in graphical chipset are recommended to have 2GB of RAM.

Star Wars: The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 256MB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better. Examples include:

ATI X1800 or better
nVidia 7800 or better
Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better
DVD-ROM drive – 8x speed or better (required for installation from physical editions only) Internet connection required to play.

I don't want it to just get by or lag a little. I'm looking for perfectly smooth gameplay so I'd assume the specs would need to be higher than what the "minimum" suggests.

I was just looking around on newegg and came across this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229285 which I haven't looked into at all, but the details on it seem pretty decent, although once again I know NOTHING lol and the price isn't bad. So would something like that do the job? More/less? Help is always appreciated, thanks!
 
tbh no i dont think it would work at the best, if im right the CPU is a bulldozer which sounds nice but is total crap.
 
Well, one issue you may have is it shows out of stock....

The other suggestions I would have is that the video card is decent, but not sure if it will handle the game on highest settings. I am comparing SWTOR to WoW as I have not played it yet, but on Ultra settings, WoW needs a fairly high end video card to max everything flawless.

You may can turn down the settings and get very smooth gameplay though.

Just in my reading, I am hearing that SWTOR is having some issues with AMD chipsets. Not postive on this, but I would double check before I invested into one.

Also, there is no mention of what type of power supply that is on this computer.. it says 500w but that doesnt mean much. You want to make sure that is is a good brand or you are very limited.

if you don't want to build then this and it should work with a low end video card already, or for 60 grab a power supply then get a good graphics card.
 
Yeah I didn't mean exactly that computer, I just linked that as an example of a pretty decently priced computer with what looked to be decent specs(to me). I'm not really sure what to look for in the computer all I really know is higher GHz processor and more ram = better? lol. And yeah SWTOR does take a lot more processing and graphics than wow did.

Is newegg the best site to look for computers or is there a better place? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks for the help everyone I'm not trying to rush too much into this, but I'd like to get a decent desktop soon that will run SWTOR because that is the main game I've been waiting for.

but building is still the way to go, but otherwise ibuypower is decent, they're like alienware but with actual options instead of just 2 or 3, and not overpriced as hell like alienware is.
 
So that computer you linked with a good power supply and graphics card would run it great you think? And you linked it from bestbuy, but mentioned ibuypower is the way to go, so if I bought off ibuypower where should I start? The top left has a desktops option, which takes you to AMD or intel and then takes you to 8 listed desktops, are those all of the options they have and you basically go with one of those and customize them to fit your needs?

building is best, that from best buy is a good deal, then ibuypower.com would prob be next.

and i normally go for the cheapest on the list then up the specs to the desired.
 
Okay so let's say I went with the one from best buy, what kind of power supply and graphics card should I look for to go with it?
 
Also I was reading the reviews and they all say pretty much good price, but have had issues connecting to the internet? Along with a 2.9 ghz processor instead of the 3.0 listed... Is this a big deal?
 
the main thing seems to be a lack of .1ghz, which won't make any noticeable affect hardly. then the internet part it says in the description it doesn't come with wireless, and some idiot just assumed it did (never assume on computers, bad idea).

the upgrade part depends on what you want or what you want to spend, this should max swotr at 1080p or right there at it.

Did you mean to link something there or do you mean the computer should max swtor? I'd really only want a graphics card good enough to max it out, anything more would most likely be unnecessary in my case.

Also it doesn't look like this computer comes with a monitor, where would you suggest I buy a decent monitor at?

Awesome, so do you think the computer from best buy, plus the graphics card and power supply would be my best option other than building one?
 
clockrate is hard to go by, because intel and amd per clock do differing abounts of instructions. intel is faster per clock. go with the intel
