on the beginning, I want to sorry for my english.

Motherboard: Asus P5K Green
Ram: 2 x 2GB i 2 x 1GB - both Kingoston
System: Windows 7 Proffesional 64 bit
bios updated to the newest version

on the motherboard are two yellow slots, and two black. in black I mounted 2 x 2GB, in yellow 2 x 1 GB. Memory remap is enabled, unfortunately windows (bioss too) sees only 4 GB RAM. Question is why?

screen from cpu-z:

on each one slot there are the same values. (serial number and week/year only changing). ram's are 800Mhz, but it's show as 400 and each one (sorry for repeating) is showing as a 1GB memory.

I've founded on the net advice to run msconfig and in boot tab -> adcenced set to 6144 MB, but after this value come's back to 4GB.
I'm wonder, what if I change to single channel? (now is dual channel in interleaye mode - does it mean something? can I change to the other mode?)

I've searched every possible thread's on polish (I'm from Poland) and foreign forums - without solution. :(

I can not answer why your ram isn't reading.
However, your RAM speed is reading right. It is DDR (Dual Date Rate) memory. That means to get the clockrate on CPUz or Speccy, you must multiply by 2 (dual makes sense).400*2=800

it may be that the 2 X 1GB RAM sticks are being rejected and only the 2 X 2GB sticks are running clean. Try taking out all sticks and installing one by one booting after each install.

Also check that 4GB isnt the max amount of RAM your PC can have

StrangleHold, I wrote I have this mode enabled

wolfeking, thanks for explaining :)

arkoze, i think each one ram is reading by computer (I don't know is it written correctly), because in cpu-z, when i was changing slot in spd tab, in every tab were data, but each slot was showing 1GB, as if like there are four 1GB memories. I'll try running pc on only one of them, one after the other. and then i turn on it on four.

edit:
yes, my pc can have max 8GB ram on this motherboard

strange thing. I've unmounted all the ram, and left only one, 2 GB block of ram and run pc it's show only 1 GB of ram... maybe there is some type of lock and it only read maximum 1GB for slot?

It said the maximum is 8 from what I read. That is 2GB per slot.

Is this new RAM or used? If its new, I would RMA it. If it is used, see if you can find a good 2GB stick and try it, you might just have a bad set of 2 gigs.

Return to Manufacturer Agreement. AKA, just a replacement.

You don't need to worry about that since its used. Try to see if you can either have your ram tested in another computer, or can get a 2GB stick to test in yours. Either would tell you if your memory is bad or if its a BIOS issue.

ok, I'll try to do this tomorrow, because today is just to late. i hope You will help me tomorrow. thanks anyway ;)

edit:
but one thing not bothering me. maybe there is some kind of limit per slot enabled on bios?

ok. I've finally get another 2GB block of RAM. And this one is working fine, it's shown as a 2GB, so it's ok. Other thing is, I have disovered that, the memories which I bought, and dosen't work properly have a little bit other number.

My original memories: KVR800D2N5/1G
Memories which i bought, and doesn't work properly: KVR800D2N5K2/2G
Memory which I've borrowed: KVR800D2N6/2G

The only difference I can see is the D2N5K2 has CL5 and the D2N6 has CL6. Maybe with the D2N6 in it, go into the bios and manually set your CL/CAS to 6. Then put the D2N5K2 back in and see if it will run.

ok, I've founded that settings in bios, but i don't get it what should I change. there is a couple things, that I can change, and I have no idea what should i do with each one. here is a photo:

I will be grateful if you help me with this.

Where it says DRAM Timing Control, set it to Manual then your timing options should show up.

I know this, but what change inside?

Oh, and now I have installed
KVR800D2N5/1G x 2
KVR800D2N5K2/2G x 2
(so the same way which i had installed when i started thread)

You want to change the CAS# (CL), RAS#(tRCD) to CAS#, RAS# Precharge (tRP), Cycle Time (tRAS) and Bank Cycle Time (CR). They are already in that order in the BIOS. 5-5-5-15. Change them to 6-6-6-18.
