Serious virus. :( computer freezes after a few minutes.

I don't have much time to write this. My sister opened an email she thought was from Facebook, with a link that even linked directly to Facebook. Well it must've been encrypted with something because my computer suddenly locks up every few minutes and doesn't work after that. I can't even run any virus scans. I need help urgently please! I pray someone is awake! :(
 
I was able to run HijackThis. My computer is in Safe Mode with Networking.

Start with the usual, run a version of rkill using the following info and then run malwarebytes.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here or here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If for some reason Malwarebytes will not install or run please download and run Rkill.scr, Rkill.exe, or Rkill.com. If you are still having issues running rkill then try downloading these renamed versions of the same program.

When the hijackthis log appears in a notepad file, click on the edit menu, click select all, then click on the edit menu again and click on copy. Come back to your reply and right click on your mouse and click on paste.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log

I am unable to install Rkill. Avast keeps opening giving me to open to sandbox, which I decline, and then I get a windows message, "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not about the appropriate permissions to access this item."
And then the sandbox message keeps popping up and it happens all over again.
 
The sandbox keeps popping up now, and when I choose to open normally occasionally a box will open titled Launch Application (never see this before) and it says the item needs to be launched from a specific location.
 
Okay, I've diabled Avast now so the sandbox message would stop appearing. I opened the Explorer.exe Rkill. The box opened, closed, opened and closed again an then I guess it finally worked.

This log appeared. Not sure if it is important.

This log file is located at C:\rkill.log.
Please post this only if requested to by the person helping you.
Otherwise you can close this log when you wish.

I'm surprised my computer stayed on long enough to scan this. >< Also, I'm not sure if it makes a difference but as I already had Malwarebytes installed I only updated it. I did not uninstall and reinstall, but I will if that is necessary.

What was the problem, causing the freeze ups? Or what do you believe to be causing the problem? You see no virus? And what is C:\Users\Rachel\Downloads\eXplorer.exe (Heuristics.Reserved.Word.Exploit? Is that just something for the Rkill?
I apologize for all the questions. I would like to learn more about my computer so I don't go into panic mode everytime something happens. :(
 
Most likely was the explorer.exe file. Anytime you have an issue with the computer for the most part your first thing to do would be scan your system for malware. If malwarebytes won't run then run rkill.

What could've caused the explorer.exe file, and is it a natural occurrence? Will it come back, and is it a form of a virus?
Another thing while I have your time, John, are there are specific ways I can check for keyloggers? I use my computer for a lot of important information, which is one reason why I worry so much about computer security and safety - I also don't have to the money to get it repaired should a serious problem arise. :(

And lastly, I got a message at bootup that said the battery memory is low and may need to be replaced. I've had a lot of problems with my battery from the moment I purchased my computer. Battery life is supposedly 6-8 hours and mine hardly lasts an hour off charge. I have a warranty. Is this something I should contact them about, and would a warranty cover the replacement of a battery? Thank you so much for your assistance!
 
Looks like you downloaded the explorer.exe file since it was in your downloads folder.

Batteries are usually warrantied from the manufacturer for a year during the warranty. If you have the extended warranty more than a year then the battery would not be covered. Sounds like you need a new one.

Use your antivirus program and malwarebytes to scan for keyloggers. A lot of users are overworried about the keylogger issue.

How could I have downloaded it? Do you think it downloaded from the link my sister clicked?

I bought this computer at the beginning of March, so it's not yet even a year old, so from what you're saying I should still be able to get the battery replaced with the warranty? :)

I am running a full Malwarebytes scan, Avast and Spybot. How often do you get users worried of keyloggers that actually have keyloggers?

I'm sorry again to bother you, but my last question. I tried to boot up again last night in Safe Mode with Networking and the screen froze, with weird rainbow bars all across it that looked somewhat like this:

But it was all across the screen. Do you think this was a temporary error because of the Explorer thing, or something I should be concerned with?
 
The battery should be under warranty yes since its been less than a year. The colors on the screen may have been a glitch. If it happens again, then I would be worried, most likely a graphics issue.

Once every couple months I get someone worried that they have a keylogger on their system and it turns out they don't.
