I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 on a brand new system I built ( Gigabyte 880gma-usb3, AMD phenom II X3, 1 T Hdd, 8 GB G skills Ram), and I'm experiencing a number of glitches and bugs that I don't know how to fix.
The first and most prevelant that I noticed was the system occassionally freezing when I either try to "restart" or "switch users." With both freezes it usually goes to the purple Ubuntu screen and then gets stuck. It doesn't happen every time, but often enough.
The next glitch is second most often occurring. I forget what it's called, but you know how you can drag a window to the side, and this orange-ish box appears to show you were the window will lock into place? Well sometimes that orange box appears and doesn't go away until I click the window management thingy and then back off it.
And finally, most recent and least pervasive, when i was trying to empty the trash, the little bubble pop up that says "Empty trash" wouldn't go away, and then the unity bar wouldn't "hide" when i had a browser window open. Fixed this with a restart (which froze first).
I'm not sure if these are related issues, or if it's something simple like I need to update something, but any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
