what do you think

Video card is no good. You need a single or dual slot for SLI. The 3 slot is great airflow, but will block your second x16 slot, which needs to be populated by the card.

Hard drive, get either a F3/F4 or Western Digital Black.

PSU: shitty brand. Good brands are Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, Silverstone, PCPAC, and XFX. you will not need a 1.3Kw PSU either. 850 should be fine.

Motherboard: Asus isn't the best. Gigabyte or ASrock are better.

1) thats what i thought but why would you make a graphics card that allows sli but cant fit two on one mobo.
2) i decided on a cheap hdd as the os and frequently e=used programs would be put on the ssd
3) i only put that on there to see what you thought of it, and it had pretty colours :)
4) whats wrong with asus mobo?

It has been proven time and time again on here that Asus support is rubbish at best. They might make an ok product, and just because you don't have an issue with them don't mean they don't have an issue at all.

All boards have issues of some form or another. I have owned three 1155 boards. Two of which were Gigabyte (P67A-UD7 and G1 Sniper 2) and my current ROG board. The Asus board can hold higher overclocks than either of the Gigabyte boards and I've never encountered any problems with Asus support. Infact, when the original 1155 boards were recalled due to the chipset issue, it was Gigabyte that refused to send me a direct replacement for my UD7. Instead they tried to palm me off with a UD5. The Asus P8 is probably the most popular 1155 board.

It's not wise to make such sweeping generalizations.

I am not making a generalization. I am making an observation based on evidence provided on this site by senior members.

Another thing, its not bright to judge quality based on the highest priced units sold. Hell, Im sure that you pay enough for anything, no matter the brand, you will find a good one. Take the cheapos and try the quality, then you see the company for what it is.

But you have made a generalization about an entire brand. I'm a member of many forums and have never heard the sorts of claims that you are making.

I don't know why you have raised the issue of product price. I haven't mentioned that anywhere. I also used to own an Asus M3N-H HDMI (if that's not bottom of the range then I don't know what is). Never had any problems with that board either.

you brought up the UD7 and ROG. those are very high end boards.

And whatever. Im not pushing this point anymore. There are better brands out there. There are brands where you get more for the price, and quite frankly nicer looking boards.

Some motherboards have more than 2 2.0 slots, so there's more space between them. Look at the gigabyte 3-fan models. I have one of the 570 version and it stays very cool.
