What should I look for in a monitor?

I have heard some things about what to think about when buying a monitor but not sure if true or not. hoping you guys can clarify.

1) LED backlit LCD monitors are the best image/color quality as of now.

2) A 21.5 inches monitor with 1920 x 1080 resolution has better clarity than a 24 inches monitor with 1920 x 1080 resolution but the differences are probably not going to be noticeable.

3) Best monitor brand as of now is ASUS.

24 inch at 1080 is adequate, anything larger...just isnt right...to me at least, you need more pixels to make it ok, probably an asus monitor would be something you would be lookin at in that size/pricepoint

Difference between LED and non-LED are few. People say LED looks better, but I can't tell. What it will do is reduce power consumption and will be less strenuous on the eyes.

well an LED back lit LCD isnt technically an LED is it? The pixels are still LCD its that the LED in the back provides the light for the LCD pixels where as a regular LCD screen uses big bulbs in the back.

LED will lower power consumtion, and will run cooler possibly too...and in some cases might even out the hot spots in a cheaper monitor

They can use 2 different types of panels. Cheaper monitors use tn And the best I think use ips panels, The apple cinema display uses ips panels. That's why it costs like £900
