Advice/Help/Criticism/Comments on my budget setup??

Ok so I'm selling my PS3 and don't have much free money, so I'm on a budget but I'm hoping for something that can play Left 4 Dead 2, the ARMA series and other PC games with ease, as I'm finding CoD & Battlefield boring... This is my proposed setup (name-pasted)




ARIANET Impact Micro-ATX Chassis

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 960T Black Edition 95W Edition 3.00GHz (Socket AM3) Processor

Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2P GeForce 7025/ nForce 630a (Socket AM3) DDR3 PCI-Express Micro-ATX Motherboard

Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz HyperX Blu Memory Kit CL9 1.65V Non-ECC Unbuffered

500W Coolermaster Elite Power ATX2.3 Power Supply

XFX ATI Radeon 6770 HD 850MHz 1GB PCI-Express HDMI Graphics Card



Overall cost will be about £350, what do you guys think? I'm looking for expert advice to see if this build would work, whether it's worth making and why... I could do with help


Also... out of HDD choice, should I go with a 250Gb SATA-III or a 500Gb SATA-II?


Lastly, should I go with the Phenom II or an AMD Athlon II X3 Tri Core 460 3.40GHz? Just wondering...


Also, any experience with any of these products or just some advice for a PC-gaming newbie would also be appreciated :P

On topic and @Claptonman, hes after a small case for portability (and hopefully some lan gaming :D) And as his budget is low i suggested that. Im not aware of any in the price range better.

EDIT: Hes also UK based if that helps finding anything better.

Good to know the SATA issue doesn't matter, that's a load off my mind & I'm based in the UK and not looking for international-shipping costs + VAT...

I don't know any UK sites so I was just giving the site I was used to for reference. But if you want portability, then yeah, that's a good choice for MoBo and case. Probably better than me lugging my 26lb case around...

For RAM, get 1.5v. 1.65v is basically a factory overclock so they can achieve better timings. Look for 1.5v with the lowest timings. That'll get you the best performance.

Ah right, thanks, good to know I've got the best case & mobo, why would a 1.5v be better than a 1.6v, can you explain? I'm curious and always looking to learn something new.
 
It uses less power and 1.5v is the standard for DDR3 RAM. Anything more is just the manufacturer trying to get better performance, which you can do yourself via overclocking.
 
Oh right, so should I stick with a 1.65v if I don't want to manually overclock? That seems like a game I don't wanna get in lol
 
Id stick with ethe original ones i suggested as i couldnt find anything cheaper that wasnt totally generic with no make. Although someone may be able to suggest some cheaper or same price alternatives.
