Thank your for reading this. i am currently looking for new parts to make a computer. i wanted so help on finding other things such as hard drive, video cards and memory cheaper. things that i want to keep unless i find something the same but cheaper will be case, processor, and motherboard. i am looking to try and bring my total down to about $750 - $775. also 1 question, is newegg.com a good cheap website or is there another website that i could get these items cheaper on?

newegg is about the best other than if microcenter has a good sale going, but they aren't very common, not many stores, and occasionally you can save a few bucks on like amazon. what exactly is this build for? looks good but there are a few things i'd change depending on the use.

it is mainly going to be used for everyday use, school work, web, gaming, editing, just want a fast desktop that will be able to handle almost any thing that i throw at it. also this is my first computer im building, this is what i love to do and what i want to do in life so be able to handle anything that i do to it.

i would go for this, the cooler makes it the same price as the 970 but you can unlock 2 cores and overclock some, or keep the 4 and hit between 4 and 4.5ghz. and if you don't need an operating system or that's not part of the budget then get the ssd or up the graphics, which without the cooler the cpu is still fast enough and you could get a 560ti, but that's not a huge difference.

thank you you got me a better graphic card and better memory for less money. here is my new updated list of what i am going to get

Dump the Hitachi hard drive and go with the Seagate Barracuda Model ST500DM002 500 gigabyte Hard Drive that was suggested by JonnyP11. It is a pretty good combination deal with the CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600 Watt Power Supply.

The Phenom II 960T Processor Quad-Core would also be my choice for an Advanced Micro Devices build.

Yeah, if you notice i had the 960t with the cooler master cpu cooler which made it cost about the same as the 970, but for that price you get a 6 core (most likely if you choose to unlock it) and an over 4ghz cpu.

ok so what do you think i get for the mother board / processor combo becuase i wasnt planning on getting a 6 core just 4 and then over clock the processor so it hits about 3.8 -4 ghz
also for the operating system i have windows 7 so thats no cost. so if you could get me a link for those 2 and for the ssd combo that would help alot

ok so i looked into it and i decide to take your advice with the processor but one question how fast do you think ill get it if i use duel core verses quad core ?

Your parts list looks good. You won't regret buying a Phenom II 960T Quad-Core.

I love my Phenom II 945 Quad-Core Processor. The Phenom II 960T processor is better than mine. The price recently dropped $10 on the Phenom II 960T.
