Blue screen when booting up - partition issue?

Hello,

I am running a Linux/Windows 7 dual boot that I wanted to get rid of by removing the Linux bit. Somebody recommended I use Partition Magic, and I installed it before I read about its compatibility issues... but by then I had already started it up, and it offered to fix some small problem with a partition. I clicked ok and it was done in a second.
After that I restarted for some reason, and now it won't load into Windows anymore. I get the bootloader, choose Windows, it shows a black screen for several seconds and then a bluescreen for a fraction of a second (sorry, for the life of me I couldn't tell what it says on there). Then, it offers the choice of letting Windows fix the error or booting normally. Booting normally doesn't work and just goes to the blue screen again. Letting Windows fix the error doesn't work either and it just tells me it can't repair it.

Luckily I still have Linux (and I'm not going to get rid of it after all...), and that works still fine.
Of course I desperately need my Windows and all the files there all the same... any help would be very much appreciated, and please remember I am on Linux right now, if that makes a difference.

Hm. Well, you can go through Linux and backup any files you need to keep, then simply re-install Windows.

Try checking your BIOS for an option that says something like "Restart on error" or something like that, and disable it. That may stop the error from flashing on the screen before restarting.

You probably just need to repair your MBR.

If possible, I'd like to avoid reinstalling Windows for now... I don't have the discs for that or any of my programmes (Office) with me right now. Obviously if all else fails I'll have to do it though, of course.

I'll let you know if I figure out what the blue screen says. How would I go about repairing the MBR if I had to?

Thanks, I'll take a look!

Until then - I couldn't turn off the automatic reboot, but I did manage to take a picture of it (why make it easy if you can have it the really hard way), and it looks like the error codes are 0x0000007B, 0xFFFFF880009A98E8, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034. It is possible i mistook an 8 for a B etc. though.

Edited to add: took a quick look at the link, and I don't know if that is a general guide or not - but my problem didn't appear after installing or uninstalling Linux. I never got as far as attempting to uninstall it. I just installed and opened Partition Magic and it 'fixed' something, but I never touched Linux with it. Not sure if that MBR thing still applies of course
