Mechanical keyboard!

My mechanical keyboard just came (dirt cheap $40 made in China one)! Still trying to get used to it but I already like how clicky it is compared to my old rubber dome slim keyboard.

I think it uses alps like blue switches, so it's clicky and tactile. Right now i'm still trying to get used to it, I still bottom out some keys, but I already can type faster than on my old keyboard.

Anyone else here using mechanical keyboards?

I haven't used a mechanical keyboard in years. Never really typed on one. Do they make new USB ones?

Not in 10 years. Wireless works fine. Never a problem with mouse or keyboard and lots of features. change the battery. $40.00 is a lot of money for mechanical keyboard. Why do ya want it and why so much. I can buy one for $2.00. I have one, why, i don't know. Never used it but someone from old school i might need it. Im ready to trash it. Its USB or wireless.

I had a mechanical one for years. It was an old AT->PS/2 converted one. If my system still had a PS/2 port or if I had been able to find a local cheap USB mechanical I'd still use one.

Loud and annoying is the only keyboard. I hate all those stupid slim tiny keyboards like this Logitech K200 I'm using now. I need the big frame of the keyboard to know where my fingers are. I can't feel keys when they have that 'soft feel' crap going on and I certainly can't feel the home row indicators.

Yeah it's a USB one, doesn't come with much bling though. I like it cause it just feels better than rubber dome keyboards.

I can deal with basically any keyboard and don't mind it myself. Ever since I started using a laptop regularly 4-5 years ago I've gotten better with thin keyboards. I still don't care much for Apple keyboards or any others that simulate that feel.

I use a 1987 IBM Model M mechanical keyboard... works great tactile and clicky!!!!
Same here. I've used my Model M daily since 1986 and it's still going strong. Best keyboard ever made. The keyboards of today are throwaways that only work for 1-2 years.

I have an old Dell Quietkey (which ironically isn't quiet at all) that I think is a mechanical keyboard. It's pretty nice to type on, but it's the loudest keyboard I've ever heard in my life. :)
