^^^^ Agree with this
Will be keeping my HDD and SSD for as long as i can. Will try everything in my power to avoid this "cloud" age. I don't trust my documents and what not in someone else's hands. I even have a hard time trusting my money in someone elses hands (Banks).
This so much.
And I think before we have complete takeover of computing by the cloud, there will have to be a widespread, affordable, fast adaptation of WWAN to keep up. I don't think people are going to give up the speed and stability of SSD/HDD based storage without complete coverage around the globe. Heck, here at my house I barely get cell service, let alone WWAN to cover large amounts of DATA.
Plus, with wider spread of cloud storage, the more chances that the government will be looking in on your files and charging even innocents with crimes of infringement. Big Brother is Watching!
I personally think the next technology to go will be chalk boards. They are on the way out anyway. Either that, or OHV engines (I'm keeping mine as long as there are peanuts to power it).
