Guys I bought a new computer but still lags...
Here's my pc specs

Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E6600 @ 3.06GHz (2 CPUs), ~3.1 GHz

Memory: 2048MB RAM

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 220

What will i buy in order to play smooth on battlefield 3?

If you want a machine that can run battlefield 3 smooth, try to see if you can take this computer back.

It's a very old computer. The CPU is a dead socket, most likely slow RAM, and the video card is subpar. Best thing you could do is get a new video card, but you'll most likely need a new power supply.

You're basically going to have to buy a whole new computer.

You can't upgrade some parts and not upgrade other parts.

Think about. If you upgrade your CPU, you're going to have to upgrade your GPU or it will bottleneck the CPU. Then if you decide to upgrade the CPU and GPU, you're going to have to get a new PSU.
To play battlefield smoothly, you're going to have to upgrade a lot of your parts, which is going to cost you at least $500.

Best thing to do is, take the computer back and get a better one.
