Need new Mobo after cheated by ASUS

Hello fellow forum users,

Long story short: I need help on purchasing a new motherboard.

Long story:
I've come to you all several times in the past and have had a ton of success with you all helping me with my computer issues. But as of late, I've come across something quite disturbing in regards to my current PC build.

It seems that for some odd reason, my motherboard seems to be of bad build and is giving a good amount of people who have purchased it BSOD's for odd reasons.

I've done a tremendous amount of research into this, and to no avail. It seems there is no solution for this, that everyone who bought this motherboard Was cheated. Read the most recent reviews. (BSOD's.)

However, as I venture out to make my next motherboard purchase, I came across a startling find; every single motherboard looks like it absolutely sucks.
I'm terrified to buy a new motherboard fearing that every problem that the reviews had will come to plague me. This will be my second PC build. If someone could point me to a reliable board for my current hardware, or at least tell me why every mobo on newegg looks like a week old cow pat, it would be much appreciated.

I've scoped over the little blue box in my case ever since I got it, and there is literally NO identifiable marks on it whatsoever. I got it used from a friend.
As far as ASRock, they currently have no motherboards that have a AM3 socket for my 955 Phenom II. Thanks though, I appreciate the suggestion.

A friendly warning. You should be careful when say language. Wouldn't want you to getting banned.

Anyway. Now to solution problem. It look like you need update BIOS.

There is other possible that might trigger Blue Screen of Death.
Your RAM might be bad. It is brand that i don't trusted those and i know it is not for AMD chipset. My top trust is Kingston, Patriot and G.Skill. They're great and never fail me.

Here is RAM i recommended for AMD chipset, and that would be Patriot and AMD work together to make this RAM.

Thank you all so much. After finding out that AM3+ is backwards compatible, a whole new spectrum of motherboards has just popped open. I sincerely thank you, I do believe I've found a new mobo.
However, I read somewhere that new AM3+ chipsets with an older AM3 processor limits the Ram to two sticks of 1600 (or something)? Do any of you know anything of that?

Thanks for that. It's gone now.
Seeing as that RAM is sold out, is there any way to tell if one RAM will work in combination with a CPU besides the obvious AMD stamp on both products?

RAM compatibility is more to the motherboard than the CPU.

As for the Chipset limitation, I have never heard anything about it, but that don't mean that it isn't there. 2 sticks of DDR3-1600 is pleanty though, as that would be able to max out at 16GB, but 8GB would be all most people need.

Thank you all so much!
You all made this possible:

Just got done putting it all together. I even got the motherboard that JohnB recommended.
I would probably go with this board myself. Gigabyte is a very respectable brand nowadays. I mainly stay with Gigabyte but will go Asus if need be.

I have Gigabyte motherboard too. It never fail me before and it is very stable with windows 64-bit. I can ever overclocked to 3.60 GHz on i3. One time my Main BIOS fail but itself repair. Like droid repair itself.

PS. please forever my little mistake. Problem loop can be trick to me whether if it is motherboard or RAM.
