Looking at this build worth it or not?

is this kit worth buying? im not looking for a crazy powerhouse or anything of the sort. it just needs to be able to handle World of Warcraft cataclysm with decent graphics while still having somewhat high FPS 35<

i have a geforce FX 5500 pci graphics card already, its not much but im sure it would help a little.

ive struggled with me laptop (dell studio 1535, 2ghz core2duo, 4gb ram) and my desktop (dell dimension B110, single core celeron 2.53ghz, 1gb ram, geforcefx 5500 pci 256mb, SB audigy Hd sound card) trying to play this, i have both on the lowest settings and still only achieve a max of 30 fps (in houses or other small indoor areas) usually around 15 outside in large areas.

ive been looking to build a new computer for a while, so if this kit is worth my time i will pick it up.

I wouldn't buy that, the main turnoff's on that is the biostar motherboard and especially the diablotek power supply, which is a real low end unit and will possibly take out other components when it goes out on you. What kind of budget are you looking at?
 
Ahh, about 350 bucks. its all im getting back for taxes.
i built one on Tiger a few days ago with different parts, but that was around my limit and it only had the case, mobo, CPU and Ram.

yea i know its a biostar board. lol but These items together fit my budget and it seems like it would be a semi-fast pc for my second build.
my first build was in school so i didnt get to keep the computer, they now use it in the classroom.

i do have an OS, i have windows xp professional SP2, or i have a crappy version of vista that came with my laptop.

i know vista is whats killing my laptop too :( ive been told by a few people that if i had windows 7 on my laptop it would run circles around alot of computers. because vista is eating up so much memory and cpu.

and i do have a power supply. its 450 watts but it is not a diablotek.

my main concern with the kit you posted, is i am looking for something with at least 2 pci slots. i have three pci card in my desktop that being
Netgear Nic, Geforce fx5500, and a Sound blaster audigy 24bit Live HD.

they are all relativity new.

should i re use them or just start over with the new machine?



I just went on and built that, only i added AMD Performance edition desktop memory kit 4gb (2gb x 2) and my total is 354.92. the ram is 34.99 so i figured why not.

Yeah, I forgot to post the memory I used. I'm not at home to post the link for it. Glad you caught that. As long as the operating system install cd you have is a full retail version and not an oem version or system recovery cd, you can use it.

ahh, its a "recovery disc" came with the desktop i have now. but i just realized, i wont be able to build my pc after all. Mass effect 3 is coming out 2 days before my daughter is born. And thats been at the top of my list since they started making it. i will probably start my build with a case and maybe a psu. then gradually build it when the money comes.
