too dumb for a smartphone

does anybody wear their smartphone like a pipboy?

my wireless contract expired this month and i want to get a smartphone.
i also wanted a tablet to take notes at school.

i think i'll go with the galaxy note.
any other recommends?

does it sync with your smartphone, or is it a stand-alone device.

It's pretty recent. It's a stand alone device, but you can sync it with your phone to get texts and call notifications (it's not a phone).

There is such thing as a watch that runs android that's also a phone, but the only one is from some deep china manufacturer, not entirely trustworthy.
