is DC card another name for the xD card?

The reason I ask this question is because Newegg has a deal for today on IOGEAR devices. I figured I'd look up an external card reader because the internal ULTRA card I got from Tigerdirect didn't read xD cards even though it said it did and then the external ULTRA card from Tigerdirect I got as a replacement w/ the same capabilities also did not read my xD cards that it said it did. I know the difference between xD, xD type M, and xD type H.

For these IOGEAR external card readers on Newegg, some say they read Olympus DC cards, no type, type M, and type H. I have an older Olympus digital camera and everything was known as xD plus the two newer types.

Just want to know if Olympus DC card and xD are exactly the same thing. Perhaps Olympus just changed the name, for some reason. I searched all over for an answer and couldn't find a thing.

Thanks.

I personally have never heard of DC card, and google didn't find anything on it... Do you have any link??

Well, IOGEAR got back to me. They said they used the term "DC card" because xD card is a copyrighted term and so they couldn't use it. However, they did confirm that DC card and xD card mean the same thing. I guess they're just the only ones that use it. But that makes no sense at all to me considering they still use names like SD card, and Compact Flash and all the other ones. So, I don't know what all the trouble is about, but it doesn't matter cuz I went with a cheaper priced product made by another company on Newegg.com that had lots of reviews and lots of good ones, compared to the external card reader models of IOGEAR's I was thinking about getting.

Thanks for the response though!!
